The game is definitely fun, especially if you play it on a tennis court. The birdie is smaller and flies faster than in traditional badminton games. Hitting the birdie and directing it to the right spot is easier than I anticipated, especially considering the small size of the racket. Once the game gets going, the enjoyment level is fairly high, but falls short of the promised thrill in the product promo texts. Perhaps the biggest disappointment is that, in spite of all the hype and promises, the game is far from being wind resistant. A little better than badminton, but still can be ruined by anything stronger than a breeze. The “wind ring” is ineffective, feels more like a placebo.

Overall, if you paid under $30 for this set, you probably are going to get your money’s worth out of playing it. Try it, and expect it to be a fast version of badminton.

This is truly a fun family game. All ages can easily play together — we were playing two on two with 9 and 10 year olds against adults. It is worth every penny and I love that you can play it anywhere.

One potential problem I see is the cone markers. I have an older version that has sand bags connected by strings so your court is always the correct size, so I can’t say how easy the cones are to set up in the right dimensions. I don’t know why they got rid of the sand bags and strings — this was a great way to set up the court so you know exactly where the inbound line is.

Overall — hours of fun for the whole family.

We opened the set and started out great, But in one Afternoon all of the Birdies or “Speeders” fell apart. I have emailed the manufacturer and hopefuly they will come up with a tougher design.

We tried the Speedminton game over the holidays and thought it was lots of fun. Unlike badminton, the birdie is more sturdy and flies more accurately. The racquets are more like racquetball racquets and are also very sturdy. We were impressed that we could play the game at the very breezy beachside, with a few minor adjustments to our swing. Also, since the racquets are not too heavy, there was no arm fatigue. We’ve played Smashball at the beach for years, and when we picked up those paddles to play (after playing Speedminton) we thought they felt heavy and awkward. We will have years of fun with this game.

I bought this set to play with my nephews but it didn’t last very long. The very first time I played with it, the ‘Speedracquet’ I was using broke after about 1 hour. Apparently, I hit it so hard the birdie stuck in the racquet. It was still fun to use and the birdies really flight high. In my opinion, it would be cheaper just to buy the birdies and use tennis or racquetball rackets that you already have.
