This shoe features a full-length contoured compression-molded EVA footbed that provides incredible shock absorption and an overall well-cushioned feel. Its patented 9-Spike configuration is lightweight, comfortable, and provides aggressive traction for a variety of field sports.

These cleats have performed very well in all conditions. Much more comfortable than my last several pair of cleats. I’m no longer experiencing the toe and foot problems. The many points of contact with the ground really help cushion the foot stress during hard cuts. Have had no complaints about the quality of construction. Looked long and hard for just the right cleats and I’m very happy Mizuno 9-Spike Blast 2.

I previously owned a pair of the first version of this shoe, the blast, and just received the pair I ordered of this second version of the same shoe. The only difference I see is the price and the tread is a bit different. There are grooves in the spikes of these and the first version does not have that. As far as the shoe itself, it is very lightweight and comfortable, almost like a running shoe. I can’t comment on the traction of this new version yet but the first version had good enough traction for almost any situation, except wet grass, which I slipped on a couple of times, but that could have happened with other cleats too. The cut of this shoe is a bit more narrow toward the toe, and if you are like me and your second toe is longer than your big toe then it might start to press up against the front of the shoe. I normally wear a 10.5 in other shoes and bought that size in the first version of this shoe and wore them for a season and just dealt with that feeling, but it started to be too much to endure for another season so I just ordered a pair of 11.5 in this version, which as I said is pretty much the same except the tread is a bit different, and they feel great. They still fit tight enough and now my toes have room to move and don’t feel all scrunched up against the front. I would definitely recommend this shoe, just make sure you get the right size that feels comfortable.
